I quietly said this to myself a month ago but this team has the feel of the 2001 Mariners team. I feel like we'll end up with a very good record and get to the playoffs but won't do much outside of that. The Mariners had a super solid team with good but not great pitching. By then Johnson was gone and their pitchers were Jamie Moyer, Freddy Rodriguez, Joel Piniero, Aaron Sele. In my opinion not dominant pitchers. Our guys outside of Zambrano are pretty much that. They'll get wins but aren't really a scary rotation in the playoffs. Sorry I felt like some jinxing on the Friday.

Why no faith? The Cubs have become so good at coming back in the late innings that I can honestly say I had faith the entire time...that wind was crazy! I think it just goes to show how great Marmol and Wood can be. Every time Edmonds comes up to bat I secretly wish for a sprained ankle so Felix can come back up but he really did a great job yesterday.
