I don't think we're going to drop Pie. I think Lou sees his potential...especially given how young he is. He's working super hard on his hitting game but I think he just needs a little more confidence in the majors. Jim Edmonds is the ultimate douche bag

Agreed on the doucheness of Edmonds. I'm glad he's not in the game against the pirates today. I think Felix will become at least a respectable player. From reading quotes on him he seems to want to put an effort and change unlike other duds we've had a.k.a Corey Patterson.

Why is it that whenever we acquire someone that we as cub fans hate that they end up suckings. Sure Edmonds hasn't played a game yet... but this reeks of Jeff Blauser to me.

Believe it or not, I think we should have picked up Kenny Lofton. I was thinking about this the other day, and today I found an article on http://ESPN.com about all the teams (including the Cubs) that could use Lofton in their lineup. He's old, but he always ends up being a key figure for winning teams -- think 2003. Also, as much as we all love Pie, I'm pretty sure Kenny would get on base about 800 times more this season than Pie will for his entire career.

As for Edmonds, I'm not convinced he'll get the job done at all. He'll probably be this year's version of Rob Bowen -- just taking up space and striking out for a few months before he gets shipped off.

Yea I found that pretty weird too. I feel like every year I'm saying to myself, why won't the cubs pick up Kenny Lofton. Is he asking for too much money this year? I have no idea, he's a left handed bat and a center fielder. Does he not have enough pop?

Edmonds sucks. It's funny how old he looks compared to the rest of the guys on the team. He made that one amazing catch but other than that, he's dead weight. I think Felix would have made that catch anyways.

I don't know where I heard or read but they mentioned that Felix would make the catch look routine instead of Edmonds dogging it to make it look more difficult than it really is. He's a shady man that Edmonds. Total dead weight, lucky we can release him whenever and not lose much if any money.

Yeah...Felix would have made it look easy. In an interview a few days ago, Pinella said that Felix is only in the minors because he gets so many more batting opportunities for practice there compared to the majors. My sources tell me he'll be back within the next few weeks. I can't wait.

I agree. Jim Edmonds will be long gone by the end of the month. He is hitting nothing, there's only so many opportunities he can get with this club.
