I think it'll be a race to the end with Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Chicago. Each team has its faults. Everyone puts St. Louis at 3, but I never count out the Cardinals. They seem to find a way to get into the playoffs every year. Milwaukee is a bit more tricky. Everyone thinks they're the class of the central division, but they're still the Brewers and find a way not to get into the playoffs. Kendell will not continue to hit so well. I don't know who Gabe Kapler is and where his bat came from, but there is no way that guy keeps hitting. They can't figure out where to put Braun so that he doesn't have to actually field a ball. They're starting pitching is pretty solid though. I dislike Gagne (definitely not worth 10m). As for the Cubs, I don't see Reed Johnson keeping it up all season. Pie still can't hit if he does come in, even though they're trying to totally retool his swing (midseason, yikes!). The Cubs pitching needs to be more consistent. I think it will be a fun race to watch.

And as soon as I mention Pie, he hits a bomb in the 8th last night against the Mets.

I think I recall mentioning in a post from last season that I absolutely love Pie and I think he's really going to be a key player later in the year. He's so young...so quick...
There's something about Reed Johnson that I cannot stand. I can't really put my finger on it...it might be that patch of hair on his chin...not sure. I do have to give him credit for sacrificing his body and somehow getting hit by a pitch about one in every three at bats. But, I'd really like to see Pie somehow take his place.

I do remember you mentioning your appreciation for the Pie. I'm liking both outfielders. Even with Pie not producing on the offensive end, he's not as annoying as Corey Patterson was when he was struggling. That home run Monday night was awesome!

Yea I agree with you on the Cards. It seems every year people say they will suck and that their pitching is horrible. Yet they continue to prove us idiots wrong.

Totally agree with St. Louis. Their current starting rotation looks horrible but they keep winning. Both years the Cubs won the division in the decade of 2000, the Cards were in the playoff picture up till the last month and even then they weren't that great of a team. Milwaukee is too reliant on Ben Sheets and it's been shown he can't last a season healthy.
