With spring training starting up there obviously has been more articles about the Cubs and baseball in general. Espn wrote up a post about Fukudome and in the article there was an image of a new cub, Esmailin Caridad. Last year he played for the Hiroshima Carp which got me thinking, how awesome is that team name?!
I did some research on Wikipedia and Mazda has a large ownership stake in the company. Their mascot is named Slyly and looks a lot like the Philly Fanatic. Both were designed by the same company Harrison/Erickson Inc. Not only that but they stole their team colors from the Cincinatti Reds. Originality!!
