Talking about anti-climactic. :) Its amazing that they even bothered trading him after all considering how well he did in the 2nd half. The guy we got in return obviously is lame since I can't even remember his name. I guess Detroit got the better of the deal, then again I never loved Jacque so I could care less.

Yea I think most aren't really caring about this trade. It's nice to make space for Pie and there's less traffic in the outfield with Floyd and Jones now gone.

I agree too, I just wish we got more out of the trade.

I also agree it won't be that big of a loss. He did have a sweet swing and bat flip.

I'm still not sold on Pie. Then again I have been wrong many times.

I doubt many are sold on Pie. We really should get more offense help. I wonder who's available.

With Bonds indicted we could get him on the cheap :)

I LOVE that idea.  We should have gotten Bonds in 94 or 93... whenever he was a free agent.

I think you guys need a female opinion :) I'm totally sold on Pie. He's young and I think he has great potential. He brings a lot of energy to the team...he could be a great outfielder. Obviously, he's a has the ability to be an amazing base runner, not sure what role he will play at bat but might be a great lead off hitter. With Soriano striking out about 95% of the time, he def need to be replaced in that role.

I agree, I hope he turns out to be an amazing player cause I've been following about him for at least 2 years. I'm just a little scared he might be a Corey Patterson in that we have him around for a couple years only for him to never pan out and lose an opportunity like we did in 2003 by keeping Kenny Lofton. I'm willing to give him one year at the starting spot. We need a lot more than just a center fielder, he wouldn't hurt the team.

So the tigers released Jacque Jones yesterday. He's being his usual self and batting in the low .200's but from the 2 years he was with the Cubs, this was common practice. I think the tigers were a little too early on jumping the gun. He'll be fine somewhere else.

Doesn't mean I like the guy.
