Why you ask? Cause I've finally gone off the kool aid and realize that the Cubs won 85 games, the lowest among all NL playoff teams. And as Steve Stone said, the Cubs have the 12th best record in baseball. So all the idiots who think they'll go far in the playoffs give up on this idea. "But the Cardinals won winning only 83 games last year", to that I say I don't care, we don't have Albert Pujols or the annoying David Eckstein. Why do you care anyways we aren't that deep of a team, our offense is nothing impressive, our lead off hitter leads our team in home runs and we have Steve Trachsel. It's not meant to be. The playoffs are our World Series, we did it guys! Congrats!
If anyone thinks otherwise give me a reason to why you think so.

Wow... thats pretty harsh. However its all true. Being that I'm not in Chicago as the Cubs have made the playoffs I'm wondering if people consider this team as fun/legendary as the 84 or 89 or 03 team. Those teams I can tell you the roster inside and out. I just don't feel that with this team. So I'm wondering how you others are feeling.

I have to agree though that statement was harsh. I don't think I ever really thought the Cubs were going to make it to the world series, I was just excited to see them make the playoffs. I've hopefully got at least 50 more years of watching the Cubs and all Cubs fans really want is to see them win at some point in their lifetime. The top of the lineup is blowing it and there seems to be a lack of motivation or "step-up" among the players that need to be doing just that. Is there any way the Cubs can acquire Jimmy Rollins? He seems to pump teammates up more than any Van Halen song...

I hope it's not another 50 years til a world series:) There's no way we can win when Geovany Soto is our main offensive production. Lee, Ramirez and Soriano have to do something.
