Topic: Stir Ups

Thats actually the reason I first fell in love with Shawon...those sexy stirrups covering those sexy chocolate legs.  Remember how tight those pinstripe pants used to be?  I wouldn't mind seeing Derek Lee in a pair of those. Felix Pie is the only current Cub who comes even close in the uniform department...

I think they need to mandate all the players to wear the stirrups and grow out crazy facial hair.  Just like Charley Finley did with the Oakland A's in the 70's.  For god sake... he paid them a bonus if they had a cool haircut/facial hair.  Look what it spawned... if it wasn't for that Rollie Fingers would never have had his famouse handelbar moustache!!!

Its amazing this picture is from 1987.  It feels as if it could be 1966.  Plus it makes me feel old.  I wonder if old people that look at b&w photos think to themselves how innacurate the photo feels since they lived in color.  ;)

 

Felix Pie is cool in my book when he wore the blue eye sunscreen ala Shawon but with a 2000 feel.  The man has style.

I concur.  I don't like the baggy pants a la Lee and Ramirez.  I think all baseball players should where the high socks, etc.  Look at Thome, he's a big guy that still where's his uniform cool.

What I don't get is why aren't there more guys doing it for marketing purposes.  They all look the damn same.  If some guy just picked out his fro and wore some funky stockings he would rule.  Just imagine if you saw a guy that looked like Oscar Gamble here running around today.  He would be getting all the props and some endoresment dollars.

 

That is a great picture of Maddux.  I never knew the man was even capable of growing facial hair.  Even today, he looks like he has no need to shave.

Yea that stache is pretty amazing.  He looks like a swashbuckler.
