Just had to look up some stats after his last 3 hit game.  Its quite impressive.  He batted exactly .300 in 2005 with 80 AB.  Last year his average went down but he had 6 HR's!  This year he is at a .291 clip.  Trying to think what other pitchers out there in recent history have done this well.  I know Maddux is good but this good?

Mike Hampton with 41 starts batted .291 and he had other years of 30 + starts where he batted .344, .311, and .274.  Oh the benefits of being on the Rockies.

Maddux didn't hit that well as far as average.  His top BA was .244.  He was good at laying down the sac bunt.

Nice call.  I totally forgot about Hampton.  .344 that is really damn impressive.  I wonder how much power he had as well.

Good call.  Then again being a master sac bunt guy is what every pitcher so do.  I have a feeling that it wouldn't take that much to learn how to do it well.
