Seeing how Fontenont keeps on hitting I was reading up on Fontenont's background. There's very little not to like about this guy. He was involved in the Sosa trade which means we got something from that. He's a proven winner being on the 2000 LSU College World Series Team and not only that but he was a key player in it, performing at a high level. He's a player Scott Skiles would of drafted. Screw that he's 5-8, the man has pedigree and has performed at the highest level. One knock would be his number is the same as Mark Grace's. Guess that's more management's fault for allowing that. Oh the MacPhail v Grace rivalry.

I think its complete bullshit that they didn't reserve Grace's number for future retirement. The man had the most hits in the 90's.

haha. I would have to agree with Grace's number. Her personified the Cubs during the 90s. During my childhood, when I thought of the Cubs, Grace was always top 3.
