When did Ryno become a hard ass.  I remembered hearing that he was a manager but it slipped my mind that it was with the Cubs.  He's been ejected 4 times this season? Good stuff.  More Ryno managing at the link below.  My favorite Ryno moment wasn't involving Ryne Sandberg but a discussion/argument with Steve Stone and Harry Caray about Ryne being an easier choice for first ballot hall of fame than Rickey Henderson.   Stone more or less was saying, Are you an idiot, Rickey Henderson is awesome and Sandberg has a dinky home runs record for second baseman not the league but second baseman.

I think both of them totally were first ballot type of guys.  No questions asked.  Now the question is when is Rickey going to get in... because hell.. knowing him he might show up next week and play for some last place team.  :)

He so wants an at bat at 50 years old.  He'll have that chance come 2008 season.  Come on Devil Rays, what do you have to lose.  Sign this dude.  That would be a great bargaining tool if they allowed players to pick what hat they'd go into the hall of fame.  Offer to be a Devil Ray if they gave you an at bat haha.  But no, the MLB had to switch up the rules, bastards!

I know Ryno was a badass but he had the dinkiest slides.  Never slid head first for a ball.

No, Ryno wasn't a badass.  What's badass is Lou Whitaker.  In the 1985 All Star game he forgot his uniform and had to buy his outfit from the gift shop at the ball park.  Badass!
