It begins! Kerry Wood will make his first bullpen session Tuesday.   Any takers on when he'll play this year?  Not only that but how long he'll be active till he gets injured again, mulls season ending surgery only to nix the idea and go through rehab and rinse lather repeat.

It must be so depressing for him.  Him and Grant Hill and Mark Prior should start some type of self help group to get through this.  I don't see how you can return to any normal state of mind after having had so many setbacks.  Hell I'm amazed he hasn't retired.

We all hate on Wood and say how much of a disappointment he is and hate on him for being injured.  I would agree that he hasn't been all that he was originally hyped up to be.  As for the second point, although he really is injured (unlike prior who is just a pussy), he at least tries to go out and pitch (unlike prior who is just a pussy).  He probably won't have a positive effect and will just clutter up the bullpen, but he won't retire until he knows in his heart that he can't pitch anymore.

Yea agreed.  I appreciate that these guys keep on coming back.  It must be so damn heart wrenching to just not pull it off.  Imagine if he truly made a really solid comeback.  It would be great for him, the cubs and baseball... but I'm not holding my breath for it.  :)

Baseball sure has evolved..........now pitchers undergo shoulder surgery for the hell of it, no way injury has anything to do with it. Some Cub fans sure are dumb.

Haha, I'm liking the dumb and dumber reference.

Agreed.  We should be hating more on management for believing that Wood and Prior would come back each season healthy.  They did the smart thing this year and expected nothing out of them.  I don't think about these guys ever now.

Kerry Wood will be pitching for the Peoria Chiefs on Tuesday.  His coach will be Ryne Sandberg oh yea!

He pitched quite well yesterday.  The nice thing to see is him throwing in the 90's.  Now will he keep that up.

Kerry Wood looked good yesterday.  His fastball was at 95 and he was really thin.  I remember reading up that he lost weight but he looked quite thin.  Boy I sure hope he can pitch for the rest of the season, he'd be much needed in our stink bulpen.  At least we have Will Ohman.

Seriously.  After that horrible game Dempster had... Wood is going to be more important than ever.

I mentioned it earlier.  He's a fighter.  He's the Grant Hill of baseball.  He's often injured, but is determined to play.
