Why the fuck did we get Jim Edmonds. 1.) He sucks hence being released by the Padres. 2.) No one likes him. Ok that's all I have. I really wish we gave Felix Pie more of an opportunity to play. I have a feeling we'll drop him pretty fast. That will be my next poll. What dyall think?
What's Hot in shawon-o-meter?
Jim: Tony Romo at Wrigley — I was kind of a fan of Romo but seeing his rendition of the seventh inning stretch has changed my mind. He's got this cockiness which I'm sure is great when being the qb but just fraking annoying overall. Adding on he's a cowboy and he's singing? <embed
Tlarge01: New 2008 Shawon-O-Meter tshirts on ebay for Cubs Care — New version, 2008, Shawon-O-Meter t-shirts made from original artwork, up for auction on ebay, all proceeds go to Cubs Care, spread the word! Hey guys, like most of you, I'm a huge Cub fan and Shawon Dunston fan, to pathological degrees. Anyway, back in 1990 I purchased a Shawon-O-Meter t-shirt, the "Up to Potential in 1989, Career season high .278" on the front, and "1990, The Quest for .300"…
Walt: Mark Grace 7th inning stretch - 5/9 — It was great to have Mark Grace lead the 7th inning stretch today. By a wonderful coincidence, my favorite current Cub, Mike Fontenot, pinch hit for Lilly during the bottom of the 7th -- Fontenot wears number 17, Grace's old number. They commented on it briefly in the press box. Unfortunately, Mike hit a lazy pop fly. I enjoyed Grace's self-effacing comments and good humor. He really was a…
Dan: Cubs take Game 1 vs. D-Backs 2008! — What a great way to start the series. Lily pitches seven innings and gives up one run against probably the best team in the NL AND against Dan Harren. Adding on to that Soriana contributed, so much for the Cubs being swept Hardz:P I was pretty pessimistic as well. Great to see a W. Tomorrow they'll be on national tv and in HD ye ye!!
Dan: Baker's Revenge — Man this has been a bad week for los Cubs. I mean having Paul Bako and Jerry Hairston Junior beat up on you? I had high hopes for Leiber in the starting rotation. Guess we'll have to look elsewhere
Dan: Where were you when Kerry Wood struck out 20? — I'm a little scared how fast ten years has past since Kerry Wood's 20K game. Anyone remember what they were doing on that day? I have a pretty good story. I was in high school and on the varsity baseball team and decided to ditch a baseball game that day and watch the Jay Leno show. He was in town for a week and so I decided my not. I was sort of on disciplinary actions for not reading a sign…
